Roerich Museum X Art-Prime
The year 2024 marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of Nicholas Konstantinovich Roerich, an outstanding artist, archaeologist, thinker, traveler, humanist, world-renowned public figure, one of the authors of the Pact for the Protection of Monuments of Culture and Art during Military Confrontations, the so- called "Roerich Pact," an international legal document dedicated to the protection of cultural heritage.
In honor of the anniversary of the great cultural figure Nicholas Roerich, Art-Prime Gallery offers for joint realization a sculptural composition: "The Trapper, thrice summoned" (the title based on the quote from Roerich's poem "The Trapper entering the forest"), dedicated to Nicholas Konstantinovich.
In the current global environment, the Pact, Roerich's teachings, and life journey serve as a reminder of the need and call for international Peace, respect for the cultural diversity of peoples, and the protection and preservation of world cultural heritage.
The sculptural composition is a symbolic portrait in the "active space" technique, the use of which contributes to a more emotional, full perception of the three- dimensional work and its literal interaction with the environment. Using an original contemporary compositional form, the monument will remain expressive at any time of the year.
The Art-Prime Gallery proposes the installation of a sculptural composition for the anniversary of the great artist Nicholas Roerich in New York City for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization - UNESCO building. The joint realization of the proposed sculptural composition will be an essential tribute to Nicholas Roerich and his teachings in the current world context, drawing more attention to the personality and work of the great artist, increasing the prestige of the Roerich Museum in New York, and becoming an unprecedented artistic solution that will complement the architectural ensemble of the building.
The project will bring together organizations, communities, and individuals involved in the study and popularization of Roerich's heritage, in order to commemorate his anniversary on a high level. The need for the construction of such an object is undoubted, determined by the current circumstances and the spirit of the times. We propose to consider the possibility of your participation in this noble cause.
